Growing up fascinated with horror and classic movies, the paranormal, video games and comic books, it is no wonder these played such a huge part in developing and influencing my style throughout the years. Ever since I could remember, my siblings and I would walk to the video rental store to pick up scary movies and buy Marvel Comics trading cards. I started out by trying to replicate the characters in comic books. Eventually, my older sister and I would start making our own comic books and newspaper mock ups by folding xerox sheets in half.
Largely inspired by my childhood interests and my imagination’s insistence on adding mischievous monsters to life’s everyday doldrums, my illustrations often pair these delightful devils with frail female companions who may be sleep deprived, tormented or even just annoyed by their illustrated partners.
In addition to a fascination with fluffy fiends, I am also highly inspired by Spaghetti Westerns, the Art Deco movement, high fashion from the first half of the 20th century, and my husband’s work. Besides illustration, I am also skilled in design (logos, text, etc.) layout work (web and print materials), and plush toy crafting.
Currently, I live with my husband whom I collaborate with on several projects. I am also available for freelance illustration, design work as well as commissions.
